Day one of CHA is complete and I am waiting for the show to officially open. I spent the day running between classes and fun at Disneyland. I was most excited to be one of the small 100 people who were able to attend the Ranger/Vintaj fusion class where they debut the new Patinas. I great new product for anyone using non porous items in their crafting or scrapbooking. Here is a little look at what I did!

2012 CHA Winter is this week!

I will be away at CHA Winter in Anaheim this week and next and will be posting lots of photos of what's going to be happening this coming scrapbook season. Stay tuned and until then I will leave you with a few projects that I have created using some of the great stock that still is in the store.

Supplies used: Pink Paislee Mistables, Dusty Attic Skeleton Clock face and Flourish corner, Assorted American Craft Thickers, and Assorted Prima Flowers.

I love this one!!! Supplies used: Glitz Design Pattern Paper, Prima Vine, Printery mini roses, Antique Mirror Butterflies, Dusty Attic Chicken Wire Chipboard and Tim Holtz alphabet

Supplies used: A combination of Basic Grey and Harmonie papers, Fancy Pants filters and Harmonie Laser wood and alphabets

This isn't a new layout, but I love the papers and they are still in the store. Supplies used:

My Mind's Eye and Echo Park patterned papers, Ranger sticky back canvas (photo is printed on it as well), a Prima felt branch and alphabets.

This layout was to get me inspired and excited for the upcoming trip to Anaheim and CHA. supplies used:

Lily Bee Designs pattern paper, Dusty Attic Ornate fence chipboard, Prima resin lampost and ornate frame and alphabet from Tim Holtz. I also added my own embellishment of a flattened penny from Disneyland.

The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival

What a great weekend I had at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton! Friday started off with a mini van full of stock to hit the road.....it took two us 7 hours to re-set up the store into my booth, but we were ready to rock before the doors opened.

I really don't know where the summer went, but here we are at the end of August. The kids (mine anyway) start school on Monday and we will be back at it. I have a jam packed fall filled with crops, classes, and of course great new products!!

Hockey Tape - Not just for hockey anymore

A little technique post after my Tuesday Technique class with a book binding using HOCKEY TAPE - yes you heard me right!! Hockey tape has made the most amazing binding tool for me in creating homemade book covers. Once you add some stamping and distress stain/or other ink, it no longer looks like hockey tape. Here are 3 easy steps.........

1. Using 3 pieces of hockey tape cut double the height of your project. Lay hockey tape down on craft mat and rub stain across tape. Excess can be rubbed off with paper towel.

2. Using a paint dauber, stamp paint with your favorite stamp onto the tape. Paint will give a more solid color if you are using a color other than black or dark brown. I am using white.

3. Using Chipboard cut to your desired size and covered with your favorite papers, place a 3/4 inch chipboard piece between your cover and back at the same height as your overall book. Using the tape cover each seam, placing your 3rd piece down the center of the outside. Now you have a sturdy spine for any book project.

Tuesday June 14th at 7pm is all about colorwash sprays with a fabulous layout all about you. Class is almost full - Secure your spot today.

Hi All, I wanted to share some photos I took at the boy's 4th birthday party. We had so much fun I can't wait to do a fun layout with all the photos....

The Boy's favorite part of the party was their amazing birthday cake made by Richelle Webster of Looplaloo - www.looplaloo.com If you are in the market for an unique birthday or other celebration cake you should check her out.....AMAZING!!!

Relay for Life

Today is Relay for Life in Cold Lake and I thought I should take a few minutes to post a layout I have done of Wallace who will be walking again this year. We are so proud that he continues to fight and Cold Lake continues to rally along with all the other fighters raising amazing amounts of money for research. Hopefully one day there will be a cure for everyone. If you are in the Cold Lake area and want to help make a difference, come down to the Energy Centre and visit, maybe buy an auction item or donate too.....

Congratulations Cold Lake for helping us continue to fight!

My Spring Clean up!

Many of you who have chatted with me or taken my classes have heard me call my scrapbooking room "the hoarder space". I had a moment of realization that I could no longer create anymore with the amount of mess that I had created. Thus, I took a page from Kathleen Boland's clean up book and spent 3 days cleaning up the mess, purging as I went. I feel so much better about where I can create now. While I am far too embarrassed about showing the before pictures, I have a few after shots of my scrapbooking space! TADA!!! My new and improved scrapbooking space.......

As for me, the purging has resulted in boxes of never used products so I will be having a Scrapbooking Garage sale will be held on Saturday June 11th from 9 - 4. CHA Day 2

Today was cloudy and chilly in LA. What a great day to walk the show, see all the products and get down to business ordering. Today looked alot like the following pictures:

Yep, and writing more orders....and these were the only photos they got that I was willing to post. There was a lot of ordering today. Hopefully my accounts won't blow up before I return. CHA Day 1

CHA is ready to open the doors for another great show. Something that I missed last year was getting a

photo with the sign. Thanks Tanya for all the great photos today!

Once into the show our first booth was (you'll never guess) - TIM HOLTZ!!! What an amazing collections of items to add to his existing line. Ideology will be a must have as will teh new Distress Stains. Yes, you read correct - Distress Stains. The same great nostalgic palate of the Distress inks in a fluid for quick and easy ink coverage to use on larger backgrounds. Comes with a brushed nylon dabber top to control the release of the stain from the bottle. You will love them. They will be shipping next week. Please email me if you would like to place a preorder. They will go fast!

After all the excitement at Tim Holtz and Ranger it was time to focus on other great new products. Kaisercraft has added "Paper Blooms" a beautiful new flower line in a multitude of colors. One line (a favorite for me) is called "Timeless" is sure to be a favorite. The name says it all; this will be a go to pattern paper for all your background needs.

My Mind's Eye Challenge

I've been working hard on some new kits for the Scrapbook Lounge and was experiencing a little scrapbooking block. I decided to try out the latest My Mind's Eye. The challenge was to design a layout or other project based on this sketch and the word HOPE.

Relay for Life Scrapbook Weekend!

The Relay for Life is just over 3 weeks away and the Scrapbook Lounge wants to play its part in the fundraising efforts. Please join the Scrapbook Lounge and W.C. Walkers Team for a Fundraising Crop weekend.

When: May 14 to May 16, 2010
Where: The Vault
Time: 5pm to 1am Friday
9am to 1am Saturday
9am to 3pm Sunday
Cost: $20.00 per person will be donated to the Relay

What you will get is:

- A 6ft table with lots of room to spread out and get organized
- Meet a new friend or connect with some old ones
- Lunch and Supper on Saturday, Brunch on Sunday. Snacks throughout the weekend – provided by W.C. Walkers Team
- Tea, coffee, water
- Children over the age of 13 are welcome with a registered adult

Scraptacular

Thank you all who made it to the Scraptacular event on the weekend! The Scraptacular committee did an outstanding job again this year with spectacular décor, a fabulous array of classes, and a huge vendor showcase. My Mind's Eye Challenge

My Mind's Eye is having a challenge and I decided to participate in it! I had to use the following sketch to create a layout. The theme was supposed to be a "Blast from the Past", but the picture I used is of Liam before he could move and was cute and stationary!! Here is the layout:

I used some of the new Quite Contrary Line for paper and diecuts and brads from Abbey Road. Quite Contrary is a great new collection filled with colorful papers for kid layouts, but is still so versatile that it can be used for any of your favorite photos. Thanks for looking!

CHA Day 3!

Day 3 started off with another early morning - 7am class with Donna Downey. So happy it was her to start the day off with tons of energy and the most FABULOUS project! I can't wait for you all to see the new Donna inspired Prima products coming in!

Then it was back to the floor for more ordering....Scrapbook Lounge is excited to add Studio Calico and Ruby Rock-it to an already great amount of new products from companies like My Mind's Eye, Pink Paislee, Coordinations, Basic Grey, Kaisercraft, Zva and Tim Holtz just to name a few.

Then it was off to supper. Trisha Ladoucer organized a fabulous "Crazy Canuck" night where we were able to meet a bunch of other Canadians who were at the show. Great food and lots of fun with the gals from Canadian Scrapbooker, so watch there blog and upcoming issues because you may just find photos of us.....

Can't wait to get home and get organized for all the great product coming our way! See everyone at the Scrappers Connection Crop starting this Friday.

CHA Day 2!

Today was an EARLY day - it started in the classroom at 7am with My Mind's Eye which was a great class using the new Lush line-Can't wait for you to see it. Our day is ending now and its 11:50, while I'm trying to upload pictures with a very difficult card reader. Hopefully this turns out.

The doors opened at 9am this morning and it was off to the floor, pounding carpet and ordering like crazy! I think my credit card may just blow up! Here are a few of the great items that will soon be arriving....

Tomorrow starts again at 7am with a Donna Downey class altering a canvas album. Can't wait.

Day 1 of CHA has been filled with a massive explosion of information! As the doors opened we had a plan of attack....and Tim Holtz was first! So here we are after checking out the new alterations line with Sizzix! It is all fabulous, so I ordered it all and can't wait for you to see it! CHA is now over and dare I say again, WOW!! Fabulous new products have begun to arrive and I can’t wait for everyone to see what is in store for September. When new products arrive, it means SALE!! Now for more exciting news!!! The Scrapbook Lounge will be hosting a series of Technique classes this fall. There will be 12 in total and each class will cover one product and the many techniques you can do with it. All supplies are included and you will leave with great information, ideas and even a project or 2. Scraplifting Ali Edward’s Technique Tuesday theme the classes will be held on Tuesday nights at 7pm – 8:30ish starting September 15th at the Harbourview Community Centre in Cold Lake North. Costs are as follows:

The Scrapbook Lounge is pleased to announce our Grand Opening weekend! We would be pleased if you could drop by and visit us on September 28th and 29th from noon to 5 pm both days. There have been a bunch of new products arriving daily from my CHA preorders that I can’t wait to show you all. There will also be specials, door prizes and snacks.

Scenic Route
Surfing in the ocean, warm summer sun, colorful fish, and blue waves are what inspire the new Grafton Line from Scenic Route. The Grafton Collection is for the scrapbooker who must have it all; bold colors with a tropical feel. Great for those winter getaway pictures or great for the little ones too. The collection also has coordinating die cuts, chipboard, and rubs-ons. Here is one sample of what I’ve done.

It’s hard to believe that it has been a month since my last newsletter. How the time has passed! Thanks to everyone who visited my table at the MFRC crop during the March 28th weekend.

Scraptacular 2 another huge success!!

Wow it’s hard to believe that Scraptacular is already 2 weeks gone. I hope you all had as much fun as I did and I wanted to thank everyone who visited my booth!! I also wanted to send a big congratulation out to Laurie Mansfield who was the winner of the K & Company tote bag door prize.

Thanks to all of you who made my first ever scraptacular a success. I sold out of many sets, and am hard at work at getting new kits together for you all. I have a few discontined sets that I am putting on special for 20% off, and have restocked some of the more popular kits. As the new CHA merchandise that I order comes in there will be new kits posted on the blog, so keep your eyes peeled.

I am really excited that my website is now under construction with and expected launch date in mid April. My plan is to build a shopping cart to make your purchasing easier. I will send out a notice when it is up and running.

Some of you already know that I offer shopping out of my home by appointment. I have just received the new line of Thickers from American Crafts this week and they are FABULOUS as well as restock from some of the very popular items from Scraptacular!!!!
